Agilent Releases InfiniiVision 4000 X-Series

Agilent Technologies introduced the InfiniiVision 4000 X-Series digital-storage and mixed-signal oscilloscopes. The new lineup offers bandwidths from 200 MHz to 1.5 GHz and several benchmark features, according to the company.

The units have an update rate of one million waveforms per second with standard segmented memory, which uses patented MegaZoom IV smart memory technology. They also include a 12-inch capacitive touch screen and the new InfiniiScan Zone touch-triggering capability.

"These new scopes give engineers an uncompromised ability to find the most difficult problems in their designs," said Jay Alexander, vice president and general manager of Agilents Oscilloscope Products Division. "They can find those problems faster with the advantages of a natural, intuitive touch-screen interface that will redefine their experience with oscilloscopes."

The high-speed waveform update rate allows for fast operation, even with digital channels, protocol decoding, math functions or measurements activated, the company says. Because the 4000 X-Series was designed specifically for touch operation, engineers can select targets naturally and quickly. The interface includes an alphanumeric touchpad that replaces knob-based operation, and touch-based interaction that enables greater flexibility in displaying measurement information.

It includes the functions of five devices on one unit: oscilloscope, digital channels (MSO), protocol analysis, digital voltmeter and dual-channel WaveGen function/arbitrary waveform generator. The InfiniiVision 4000 X-Series includes 200-MHz, 350-MHz, 500-MHz, 1-GHz and 1.5-GHz models. The standard configuration for all models includes 4
