Agilent Technologies Inc. has announced its M8190A arbitrary waveform generator received the Frost & Sullivan Global Arbitrary Waveform Generators Enabling Technology Award. The M8190 AWG was singled out because it simultaneously provides high bandwidth and high resolution to allow engineers to perform realistic testing, according to the company.

“Before the M8190A came into the market, end users had to sacrifice bandwidth for higher resolution or vice versa,” said Fernando Nara, Frost & Sullivan research associate. “Agilent’s M8190A arbitrary waveform generator is the first of its kind to introduce wide bandwidth and high resolution simultaneously.”

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Frost & Sullivan,” said Juergen Beck, general manager of Agilent’s Digital Photonics Test business. “The award confirms that we are delivering technology that helps our customers make reliable, repeatable measurements, even with emerging technologies like 60-GHz wireless communication.”
