Advanced Industrial Computer (AIC) has released its Gemini Series Server and Storage platforms. By implementing Intel’s most advanced designs to date in processors and chipsets with AIC’s MAX I/O technology, AIC Gemini solutions maximize available I/O bandwidth with Gen 2 PCI Express.

Gemini’s base configuration includes:

  • 2 x LGA1366 sockets to support Dual Intel Xeon Processor 5500 Series
  • 6 DDR3 RDIMM per processor; total 12 DIMM for up to 192GB of memory capacity
  • 6 x Intel 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports
  • 6 x SATA-II ports
  • Onboard AST2050 BMC for IPMI 2.0 and iKVM support
  • Max I/O native PCI Express switch to support up to 72 user-definable PCI Express lanes from Dual Intel 5520 chipsets
  •

A cost-effective alternative to PCI Express switches, MAX I/O allows users to decide the most efficient way to utilize PCI Express based on their available bandwidth. Offering a variety of riser configurations from which to choose, MAX I/O makes it simple for users to convert raw PCI Express to the version of PCI Bus they want to use: PCIe to PCI-X, PCIe to PCIe, or PCIe to PCI-X and 32Bit PCI.
