Altium Releases Vault 2.1

By DE Editors

January 21, 2015

Altium, a provider of ECAD design data management solutions, has released the next generation of its Vault platform. Version 2.1 helps improve workflow and usability for day-to-day operations, saving time and reducing errors, the company states. The Vault provides design teams to centralize, manage and formalize component libraries, design data and collaboration.

According to the company, the platform provides teams with:

  • A centralized location to manage components and supply chain data.
  • Managed copies of all templates, reference and current designs with change information as well as revisions.
  • Effective collaboration on projects across multiple design domains. Users can also co-design in real time on the same PCB (printed circuit board).
  • A design environment infrastructure management for IT departments.
"Proper design data management remains a key factor in successful product launches, both in terms of budget and timeline targeting," said Nikolay Ponomarenko, product manager for Altium. "With this update, we’ve implemented a lot of improvements and feature enhancements as requested by our customers so they can pull even further ahead of their competition.”
