3D Systems Corporation (Rock Hill, SC) is making a number of announcements at the 3D Systems World Conference in Charlotte, NC, this week.

1)       3D Systems will unveil plans to introduce a next-generation family of high-speed sintering systems — the sPro 140 and 230 SLS Centers that are designed to deliver tough, durable parts up to 30 inches long with excellent feature detail and smooth surfaces, built from a portfolio of integrated DuraForm Materials. Orders for the new family of sPro Centers are expected to be taken in the fourth quarter of this year for delivery to commence during the first quarter of 2009.

2)       An agenda item for the Annual World Conference is a discussion of the development status of 3D Systems’ next-generation ProJet 5000 3-D Production System, a new, larger format, high-speed 3D printer designed to deliver high-definition parts from a variety of plastic and wax materials that can be configured and selected interchangeably. This new system will be displayed during the World Conference, and the new generation of systems should be commercialized in 2009.

3)       3D Systems also plans to resume its managed phased rollout of its V-Flash FTI 230 Desktop Modeler following its World Conference this week. Earlier this year, the company halted shipments of this modeler pending the resolution of some technical difficulties affecting its performance. The phased rollout plans should continue through the first quarter of 2009 and, if successful, commence full commercial activities for the V-Flash FTI 230 Desktop Modeler. As part of this announcement, 3D Systems plans to announce plans to commercialize a high-definition V-Flash HD 230 Desktop 3D printer that will make use of the company’s patented Film Transfer Imaging (FTI) technology. This product is expected to be introduced in 2009.

4)       The launch and immediate availability of the iPro 8000 SLA Center was also announced by 3D Systems. This Center offers the performance attributes and benefits of the company’s latest generation iPro SLA Precision Centers but in a smaller format and more compact model.
