Bentley (Exton, PA) released version 8.9.3 of ProjectWise Lifecycle Server, a standards-based engineering data warehouse with supporting software applications that addresses engineering automation and total lifecycle asset information management needs.

Built on ISO 15926, the open industry data model and format, ProjectWise Lifecycle Server offers interoperability, providing the ability to share data with not only Bentley applications but also those of third parties. It offers an integrated, trusted data source for IT handover, a flexible data model, management of change, data quality control, security, and now, support for multiple languages, including Russian and Chinese, through use of modern data dictionary techniques.

Bentley's ProjectWise Lifecycle Server offers a complete picture of the digital plant as it is being designed, built, and operated. The software can identify and consolidate data elements from disparate sources. As information is released from different disciplines, contractors, or vendors, it provides quality-checking methods to ensure that accepted information is complete, consistent, and correct. Context data about where information originated and the conditions under which it has been shared is held as well.

Enhanced capabilities of ProjectWise Lifecycle Server 8.9.3 include multiple language support (Unicode); support for Oracle 9.2.7 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005, as well as both Oracle 9.2.8 and Oracle 10g.

A few improvements to ProjectWise Lifecycle Server modules include the ability to navigate directly to a document from inside both the Facility Explorer view and the Management of Change view; a new Tag Register supports lines, line segments, and documents as well as tagged items; a Data Quality Manager, which allows users to import data from any source, now enables administrators to pause imports while in progress.

Plus, full XML import/export support provides repeatable exchange of information with other systems, including large data sets. Users can import data for various sources faster. In some circumstances, object creation and import time has been cut by more than half.
