SESCOI plans to release its WorkNC G3 CAM software in September at EMO, a metalworking trade show, in Hanover, Germany.
 
WorkNC G3’s new graphical interface combines geometry, analysis, machining, and verification in a single environment. The new interface supports easier and faster toolpath editing, new curve creation and modification abilities, and the ability to manipulate the part during toolpath calculations.
WorkNC G3 features a new Workzone Manager that displays and manages all entities required for machining.

Toolpath simulation functions are now accessible through a single dialog box. WorkNC G3 displays the position of the cutter in real time at any point along the toolpath.
 
New algorithms provide fluid toolpaths in z-level finishing. Finishing toolpaths are now based on a more precise, optimized points distribution method. SESCOI says this improves machine dynamics and reduces vibration to improve surface finish quality. New optimization parameters reduce machining times significantly.
 
Flat surface machining capabilities include helicoidal transitions between levels. The new version features four-axis cutterpaths dedicated to blade and impeller machining.
 
A new five-axis Perpendicular to Surface toolpath is designed for machining steeply curved parts, such as bumpers, that need to be machined from one piece.
 
The company will also demonstrate the latest version of MyWorkPLAN, a job management system for small- to medium-size custom manufacturers. This software offers new options for production planning, bill of materials management, stock control, time management, and purchasing. Gantt-style graphics highlight critical operations so users can take appropriate action to maintain delivery targets.
 
Sescoi will also preview WorkPLAN Enterprise, a new ERP (enterprise resource planning) system for custom manufacturers. The new product, the successor to WorkPLAN, is built on a MySQL database.
