CAMWorks to Showcase Mold Making

Geometric Limited will demonstrate its CAM application,  CAMWorks together with its VAR Geovision, in Booth # C20, Hall 8 at  EuroMold 2010, from Dec. 1 to 4, 2010 at the Exhibition Fair Ground, Frankfurt, Germany.  

Geometric says it will demonstrate how CAMWorks can help companies make their programming of CNC machines more effective, and turn virtual CAD models into reality. During the event, certified CAMWorks technicians will be available to help with any questions, and to demonstrate and discuss the new features and enhancements of the software.  

“EuroMold is an important trade show for us and an equally important event for manufacturing companies worldwide. With the release of CAMWorks 2011 shortly after the Euromold, we will provide extended functionality for High-Speed-Cutting and automated creation of Electrodes, which make CAMWorks a perfect fit for the Moldmaking industry,” says Robert Hutter, director, Product Sales – Europe.

At the event, Geometric will also give a sneak preview of the new functions in the to-be-launched CAMWorks version 2011. A number of user interfaces have been modified in CAMWorks 2011, making it easier to learn as well as use the software, while at the same time minimize overlapping into the graphics area. Similar changes as these will be expanded in future versions.

For the mold and die industry, Geometric will introduce ElectrodeWorks for CAMWorks, an electrode design solution that automates extraction, design, management, documentation, and manufacturing of EDM electrodes. 

CAMWorks 2011 will also introduce VoluMill toolpaths for 2.5 and 3 axis high speed milling. With VoluMill toolpaths, programming and cycle times have reduced to a great extent, and the cutting tool life has significantly increased, according to the company.

In this latest version, CAMWorks introduces more intelligence into machining operations and toolpaths so that changes to machining parameters minimize regeneration time.
