Concept Laser and RSC Engineering have partnered to create laser-fused components. Known as LaserCUSING, it is ideal for bionic or lightweight construction and produces components with optimized geometries.

The advantages of LaserCUSING, according to a company press release, include maximized design, better performance and increased added value. Other functions are also available, such as cooling, production of moving parts in a one-shot process and lightweight structures. It can be used with stainless and tool steels, aluminum and titanium alloys, nickel-based superalloys, cobalt-chromium alloys or precious metals.

RSC Engineering offers design solutions in the areas of rapid prototyping, tooling and manufacturing. It also specializes in process-oriented component design.

"We are pleased to partner with RSC Engineering. Our users will benefit from our partnership with a design firm that can create process-oriented component designs using LaserCUSING for complex components. RSC Engineering's list of references and expertise will give us a strong foundation for maximizing the potential of LaserCUSING," said Franz Herzog, president, Concept Laser.
