Croatian start-up company Artes Calculi, a spin-off of the Ruder Boskovic Institute, has announced the release of Robin Hood Solver v2.0, a software package for electrostatic modeling and simulation, which includes object import and Lua scripting capabilities.

The software can be used in research institutions or in a number of industries and interest areas, including nanotechnology, MEMS development, electrostatic painting, electrostatic printing or clamping, design of electron or ion optics systems, design of supercapacitors and nanocapacitors, electrostatic capacitance tomography, and electrostatic spectroscopy.

According to the company, the solver has low memory requirements and can execute even complex calculations while running on an affordable, off-the-shelf notebook computer.

Version 2.0 includes integrated project management with auto-save; import of objects from other CAD tools in OBJ, DXF and other formats; and integrated Lua scripting and a carefully designed GUI, enabling users to create complex models. The results of the calculations can be represented visually, or in the form of a graph or table, ready to be exported into other tools, including Mathematica or Matlab.
