3D scanners typically work under restrictive parameters. Users want a versatile scanning system that can adapt to their unique scanning requirements.

To address these needs, 3D3 Solutions developed FlexScan3D, an innovative software-based 3D scanning system. It connects with a variety of off-the-shelf digital cameras and a presentation projector. The projector puts a reference pattern onto the scan target to aid accurate digitalization. FlexScan3D’s triangulation engine takes the images from the cameras to acquire data needed to create 3D models.

Control Your Costs
With a software solution like FlexScan3D, users can control their 3D scanning equipment costs. Their choice of hardware allows them to develop a 3D scanner for a fraction of the cost of traditional scanning systems. For those who prefer a turnkey solution, 3D3 Solutions offers preconfigured FlexScan3D systems great for face scanning, reverse engineering and industrial measurement.

  Partnership
3D3 Solutions partners with companies to create customize scanning solutions. In collaboration with Pressure Profile Systems, FlexScan3D was used to develop an innovative 3D foot-scanning kiosk. Customers can get their feet scanned and have a customized pair of insoles in just a few minutes. The new scanning system was delivered for a third of the cost of the existing laser scanner while matching performance needs. “FlexScan3D allowed us to meet cost objectives while allowing us to develop the world’s most sophisticated self-serve kiosk,” says Dr. Jae Son, CEO of Pressure Profile Systems.
