Dassault Systemes co-sponsored the SAE 2009 World Congress Special Opening Ceremony this morning at Detroit’s Cobo Center, which featured Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as the keynote speaker.
The ceremony kicked off the four-day SAE 2009 World Congress hosted by Honda with Bosch as the Tier One Strategic Partner. AVL North America, ATX Group, and ESG Automotive Incorporated were also sponsors of the Special Opening Ceremony.
“Dassault Systemes is committed to helping the automotive community achieve sustainable product development, which supports this year’s World Congress theme of ‘Racing to Green Mobility,’” said Tom Emmrich, president, Americas, Dassault Systemes. “Our vision is to enable companies to create better products for people and the environment by minimizing the waste of natural resources and energy in the manufacturing process.”
Emmrich noted that amidst this economic downturn, it is even more critical to avoid unnecessary waste of natural resources and energy in the manufacturing process. To address this issue, Dassault Systemes’ Kevin Baughey will present “The Future of Automotive Design and Development: 3D PLM for All” on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Cobo Hall, room D3-24/25 at the World Congress. The presentation covers the challenges faced by the automotive industry and presents solutions and strategies that can help companies prosper in today’s global and increasingly complex manufacturing environment.
