Datakit (Santa Barbara, CA; Guangzhou, China; Lyon, France) announced its data exchange solution for exporting SolidWorks parts and assemblies to CATIA V5.
This interface, a Solidworks plug-in, enables users to work from within their usual CAD environment without the need for a CATIA license to export their SolidWorks data in CATIA V5 format.
SolidWorks part and assembly files, respectively SLDPRT and SLDASM are processed and exported as CATIA V5 CATPart and CATProduct files. The assembly/component tree is fully respected. Plus, users get exactly the same reconstructed tree and names on their hard disk.
The plug-in is delivered standard with reference plans hidden to facilitate the readability of the assemblies. SolidWorks 2007, 2008, and 2009 are supported. Like SolidWorks, the plug-in runs on Windows 32- or 64-bit platforms.
To download a trial license, go to Datakit.
