Datakit, a CAD data exchange company, now supports heterogeneous CAD assembly conversions. The CrossManager 2012 front-end file-to-file translator has fully embedded the Datakit SDK, allowing unified data processing across a range of CAD formats, without requesting any third-party CAD licensing.

Datakit released the CATIA to JT translator that will handle assemblies that nest CatiaV6 (.3DXML), CatiaV5, CatiaV4 and  CGR (Catia Graphics Representation) parts and assemblies. This supports CATIA versions up to CatiaV6 R2012 and CatiaV5 R21. CrossManager 2012 will allow bidirectional JT to CatiaV5 translations as well.

Datakit also released a PLMXml assembly reader that can refer to various CAD formats. All input data (assemblies and parts) can be converted seamlessly and automatically to available CrossManager output formats (e.g. IGES, VRML, Catia5, etc.).

Datakit is also releasing JT (up to version 9.5) importers and exporters for SolidWorks.
