Dell Launches Mobile Workstation for Professionals

September 4, 2007 – Today Dell (Round Rock, TX) introduced the Dell Precision M6300, a mobile workstation designed to enable engineers, artists, developers, and other professionals to run business-critical applications wherever they go.



The Dell Precision M6300 includes the latest 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo and Extreme Edition processors up to the X7900 (2.8GHz) combined with NVIDIA Quadro FX1600M OpenGL discrete graphics. This combination is expected to improve performance up to 70 percent in graphics-intensive applications.

Other features include Dual-Channel memory with 36-bit addressing, which allows use of all 4GB of system memory with a 64-bit OS. High-performance hard drives include solid state and encrypted.

Large, high-resolution, wide-aspect 17-inch WXGA+, WUXGA anti-glare, and optional TrueLife displays allow viewing of large assemblies, 3D graphics, and video—even in bright conditions. Plus, next generation 802.11n wireless support provides up to five times more performance and twice the range than 802.11g, the releases states.

The M6300, which is designed to meet or exceed the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Standard 4.0, is available globally, with base configuration starting at $2,070.
