Dell Releases Precision M2300 Mobile Workstation

Dell (Needham, MA) has targeted compatibility and performance to meet the work environments in computer aided design and engineering, ranging from digital content creation to urban planning, and as can be expected, applications for the MCAD vertical market received its due attention in this latest offering: AutoCAD, Pro/E, and SolidWorks are all certified on the M2300.

The workstation’s 64-bit Intel Core2 Duo processors (dual core) are based on the same Intel Core micro architecture in the Dell Precision M4300 and M6300 workstations. Combine that performance with 2GHz speed and up to 4GB of DDR2 dual-channel system memory, and you’ve got a mobile system whose performance emulates a desktop.

With native NVIDIA OpenGL ICD drivers optimized for 32- and 64-bit architectures, Windows and Linux run smoothly. Plus, the M2300 has up to 4MB L2 Cache, an 800MHz front side bus, and its nonvolatile flash memory works transparently to cache frequently used code.

These Dell Precision mobile workstations have Mag-Alloy casings for durability and offer connectivity with a choice of integrated mobile broadband cards, as well as Dell’s Wi-Fi Catcher. Long battery life, optional dual batteries, and built-in security (locks, software, networks) keep work safe.
