3D Systems Corporation (Rock Hill, SC) is now offering a black-colored DuraForm EX Plastic. The laser sintering material was first introduced earlier this year in white. The addition of black-colored DuraForm EX Plastic for engineering applications avoids the need to dye or paint the part.

Black-colored DuraForm EX Plastic retains its toughness to temperatures as low as -65 degrees F (-54 degrees C). The material is designed to be used with all Sinterstation Pro and Sinterstation HiQ series SLS systems so design engineers can produce rapid prototypes.

"We are pleased to be able to expand the range of our revolutionary rapid manufacturing plastic materials," notes Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' president and chief executive officer. "We anticipate releasing additional rapid manufacturing materials based on DuraForm EX Plastic in the near future."
