Electric Ethernet, 1 in a Series

There’s a new player in the world of Power over Ethernet (PoE). Phoenix Contact, an 87-year old industrial automation company, has a new module for its Modular Managed Switch. The FL IF 2PSE-F (I never said it had a catchy name) includes two PoE ports that can drive other network devices, IP phones, and wireless access points.

The system, which sits between the device being powered and the network itself, and can be remotely managed and monitored.
