Cloud application management platform company Engine Yard has appointed Paul Melmon as its new senior vice president of engineering.

Melmon brings over 20 years of  product development experience to the position, according to a company press release. He will lead Engine Yard's engineering organization as it continues to build its platforms and applications in the public and private cloud.

"Engine Yard is redefining the way applications are deployed and managed in the cloud. As we continue to build the best platform for thousands of customers, it's key to have extensive engineering talent and experience," said John Dillon, CEO of Engine Yard. "With his strong leadership abilities and deep technical expertise, Paul will be a key player in driving our strategic engineering direction — delivering products that ensure the success of our customers and expand Engine Yard into new markets."
