EOS (Frankfurt/Krailling, Munich, Germany) introduces several technological highlights for increasing the quality and efficiency of e-manufacturing with laser-sintering technology.

EOS joins other firms in its focus on e-manufacturing for industrial series production at this year’s EuroMold in Frankfurt, Germany.

What EOS has to offer in the way of innovations include a unique high-temperature system for processing high-performance polymers that are useful for the aerospace industry and other special applications.

The EOS IQMS (Integrated Quality Management System) is being augmented with another important module through the introduction of an Online Laser Power Control (OLPC) that takes process control, parts quality, and traceability in additive manufacturing to a whole new level. The Integrated Process Chain Management (IPCM) system for EOSINT M, which facilitates rapid, easy to use, and secure handling of metal powders and parts, is another improvement.

EOS has also made advancements in the area of systems for polymers, with its EOS P 800, a high-temperature system for laser-sintering high performance polymers. Applications such as aerospace or Formula 1 use high-performance polymers for their material properties. The high-performance polymers offers properties such as flame retardancy, biocompatibility, and sterilizability.

EOS’ new Online Laser Power Control (OLPC) unit is notable for its constant flow of energy to the part built through regular control and readjustment of laser energy. With this unit, EOS can enhance the part quality as well as improve quality control of the entire laser-sintering process. OLPC is available for the EOSINT P 730. Also included in EOS’ lineup in direct metal laser-sintering is the IPCM-M, which showcases a number of features involving speed, reuse of powder, container labelling, and a platform-handling module.
