eQuality Tech is offering two fully automated structured-light 3D scanners on Amazon.com

The scanners can be used in automotive, aerospace, consumer, and medical applications, including reverse engineering, redesign, and 3D printing.

"Automated, accurate 3D scanning provides the front-end for bridging the physical and digital worlds, opening up nearly endless possibilities for greater speed, quality and variety in design, engineering and manufacturing," said Srdjan Urosev, president of eQuality Tech. "3D scanning is an essential catalyst in the 3D printing revolution."

The company is offering two fully supported product lines on Amazon.com: The $21,000 eQT Rexcan DS2 for jewelry design, dental CAD/CAM and capturing small objects; and the $49,900 eQT Rexcan CS+ for scanning small- and medium-sized objects.

"We have taken a progressive approach by offering our products on Amazon.com, which removes the mystique and anxiety traditionally surrounding pricing, functionality and support for 3D scanning," said Urosev. "This is the type of transparency customers should expect in a maturing technology."
