DP Technology(Camarillo, CA), the creator of ESPRIT CAM software, has announced itslatest release, ESPRIT 2007. The new technology is expected to beintroduced at the machine tool show, IMTS 2006, in Chicago fromSeptember 6-13, and is expected to begin shipping to customers by latesummer.

ESPRIT 2007 will include a variety of new and upgraded featuresincluding enhancements and new functionalities for milling, turning, and wire EDM programming, as well as ESPRIT FX, a new innovation inadvanced CAD-to-CAM feature exchange.

Going beyond transferring just the part geometry, the ESPRIT FXtechnology provides portions of the original CAD Feature Tree directlyinside the ESPRIT user interface, thereby including the completeoriginal design intent with all features, tolerances, materialproperties, surface finishes, administrative data, etc. Using the FXtechnology, the CAD features and their associated properties are mappedinto machinable features. These manufacturing features and theirproperties are then fed into the ESPRIT KnowledgeBase, aiding the userin automatically selecting how to machine the part based upon existingbest practices.
