Exlevel has announced GrowFX 1.5.0 SP1, an upgrade of the plant modeling and animation system for Autodesk 3ds Max.

The most important improvement to GrowFX in version 1.5.0 SP1 is Meta mesh, a new mesh builder for creating smooth transitions between trunks and branches. This builder makes it possible to create plant and tree. Other enhancements include an ability to influence all parameters of UVW Mapping for the Cylinder mesh, a new direction modifier called Optimize Steps for producing more optimized models, and conversion of GrowFX objects to Editable Spline.

GrowFX 1.5.0 SP1 is available for $325 for a single-user license. Until February 1, 2011, GrowFX can be purchased for $260.
