Arc Second (Dulles, VA; www.arcsecond.com) a developer of INDOOR GPS products, has announced a technology/product partnership with ROMER CimCore (Farmington Hill, MI; ). According to Arc Second, recent development efforts from ROMER CimCore and other metrology industry leaders signal the rapidly growing acceptance of INDOOR GPS as the measurement technology of the future.

Taking coordinate measurement one step beyond traditional approaches, companies such as ROMER CimCore, Metrologic, and New River Kinematics recently unveiled products and software at the 2004 Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) that leverage Arc Second’s technology. By providing a factory-wide coordinate frame, Arc Second enables providers of robotic systems, measurement instruments, material handling equipment and other devices with the freedom to move about the factory.

With Indoor GPS, awkward and unwieldy approaches to leap-frogging, are becoming a thing of the past.

“We are excited to see the momentum of Indoor GPS growing within the metrology customer base”, remarked a spokesperson for Arc Second, “the growing interest of other metrology solution providers in incorporating INDOOR GPS as part of their solutions is also extremely exciting”.
