FAROTechnologies, Inc. (Lake Mary, FL) enhanced its metrologysoftware, CAM2 Q, which now can collect scan data. Built with a CAD translatorand Parasolid CAD engine, CAM2 Q allows the ScanArm to automatically recognizegeometric features, such as holes and planes, for noncontactinspection.

Inaddition, CAM2 Q 1.1 allows all users to install and measure with FARO hardwareright out of the box; measure with multiple FaroArm units and FARO LaserTrackers simultaneously; customize the windows and toolbar layouts based on thepriorities of the project; quickly create, edit, and run programs in the samewindow; create measurement and operation sequences that guide other users;instantly see exact dimensions and geometric properties; easily change andconvert between different measurement units; add, change, or measure features atany time; display, delete, or re-measure every measured point; certify thattheir geometry calculations are accurate to one-half micron (500 times thinnerthan the width of a human hair); and create customized reports in Microsoft Wordand Excel, HTML, PDF, and other formats. Plus, CAM2 Q 1.1 is now available inEnglish, Russian, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish Japaneseand Chinese.
