FIPER Express is a new FIPER package from Engineous Software (Cary, NC) intended to simplify the installation and configuration of the product.

FIPER (Federated Intelligent Product Environment) is a web-based, distributed engineering process infrastructure that links engineering processes. Models, applications, and best practices are collaboratively shared, accessed, and executed with others.

The FIPER Express package will include bundled IBM middleware intended to eliminate the need for organizations to separately install and configure an application server and database. IBM's Express Runtime package includes IBM WebSphere Application Server Express and IBM DB2 Universal Database Express Edition.

"By integrating FIPER Express with IBM's Express Runtime product, Engineous will deliver a simplified, cost-competitive product that will improve the customer experience for midmarket customers," said Chris Wicher, vice president of midmarket solutions at IBM.

According to the company, FIPER Express is expected to be released for general availability next month. For more information, visit engineous.com.
