Boothroyd Dewhurst, the developer of design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) methodologies and software tools, has announced that Rainer Gawlick, vice president of worldwide marketing for SolidWorks Corp. will deliver the keynote address at its 22nd Annual International Forum on DFMA June 19 to 20, in Providence, Rhode Island.

The DFMA Forum brings together managers, decision makers, and technical experts from across the world to learn how to develop, design, and manufacture products with fewer parts at lower cost and with higher quality without fussy rules and regulations that stifle creativity. In his keynote address entitled “Designing the Absurdly Ideal,” Gawlick picks up on the creativity theme and urges product engineers to keep reaching for the best solutions and to preserve the creative approach that differentiates themselves and their companies.

Joining Gawlick at the conference will be Kishore Boyalakuntla, national technical manager for analysis products for SolidWorks. Boyalakuntla will present a technical paper called “Sustainable Design: Not Just for Architecture Anymore” as part of the conference’s Sustainability and Environment track. Boyalakuntla has spoken and written extensively on sustainable design topics, including a recent article in DE Magazine.
