General CADD Products, Inc.(Cherry Valley, NY) have updated General CADD Pro or “GCP” as manyusers call it. The 2-D computer-assisted design and drafting program(32-bit accuracy) embodies the features of Generic CADD (CADD6), thecompany’s popular DOS-based program, which reportedly has more than350,000 users worldwide.

Among the list of new features supported by Version 4.1 are ACADDWG/DXF file import/export up to version 2006; XREF display; MDI;VCD/VCS file input support; direct distance metric input support; andmatch feature added to Text and Dimension commands. A new coordinatenotation display option has been added to numeric formatting,dimensions, and labels. A Send File feature attaches output files in avariety of formats to an email message. And the program now hasexpanded macro commands and other features.

Other new commands include a sizeable area magnifier window, a layerprotection command, an elliptical arc command, a component changecommand, multiple views, and many more.
