Gibbs and Associates(Moorpark, CA), CNC machine tool programming software developer, saysit will introduce enhancements to the GibbsCAM Machine Simulationoption at IMTS 2006 at McCormick Place in Chicago on September 6-13.

Complementary to GibbsCAM's integral Cut Part Rendering, which supportsmaterial removal simulation and verification, GibbsCAM MachineSimulation capability supports simulation and validation of a CNCprogram's machine tool motion, including 5-axis simultaneous millingmachines.

Multi-task machine tools represent one of the fastest growing machine tool segments in the market and have become so popular primarily due to their ability to fully machine a wide variety of parts entirely within their working space without human intervention. Gibbs and Associates has formed key partnerships with a number of machine tool vendors, which are focusing on multi-tasking as part of their strategic market position, such as Matsuura, Mazak, Mori Seiki, Index, and Nakamura Tome.

This latest version of GibbsCAM Machine Simulation adds support forturning, mill/turn, and multitask machine tools. Machine tool modelscan be built and set up like the real machine tool, then the CNCprogram is simulated for validation prior to running the CNC program onthe actual machine tool. The GibbsCAM Machine Simulation option isscheduled to be demonstrated at IMTS booth D-3001 along with the latestproductivity enhancements available in the newest version of GibbsCAM.
