HP (Palo Alto, CA) introduced a high-performancethin client and blade workstation that provide virtualization customers with atrue workstation experience combined with the security, ease of management, andlowered total cost of ownership possible with thin client computing.

Offeringmore processing and graphics performance, the new HP gt7725 Thin Client and HPProLiant xw2x220c Blade Workstation deliver a remote experience for 3D MCADapplications, rich media, flexibility, and performance.

HP offerscustomers — from entry level to high end — the chance to build outIT infrastructures and adapt to changing business needs. HP ·s clientvirtualization portfolio includes thin clients, blade PCs, blade workstations,and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions. By centralizing computinghardware and sensitive data within the data center, the portfolio helpsbusiness customers reduce security risks.

Thehigh-performance HP gt7725 Thin Client ($749) offers enhanced graphics supportand faster application run times, while also enhancing reliability and ease ofmanagement. It can be used for viewing multi-display, 2D and 3D MCAD designs,engineering simulation results for CFD, and rendering images for oil and gasexploration.

Based onthe AMD Turion Dual Core 2.3GHz processor, the gt7725 provides users with thehorsepower to deliver the full blade workstation experience. With AMD RS780Gintegrated graphics (ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics) and multi-display support,users can view their work on as many as four displays to maximize desktop spaceand collaborate more effectively.

The HPProLiant xw2x220c Blade Workstation ($2,850 per user blade) advances datacenter workstation computing by combining two workstation platforms into asingle half-height blade package with mission-critical security and businesscontinuity. The xw2x220c, which executes user applications and resides in thedata center, is designed to deliver maximum performance at a more affordableprice for customers in fields such as financial services and MCAD. The bladecan be configured with one or two high-speed Intel Xeon processors and adedicated NVIDIA FX 770M hardware graphics card that computes and renders theinteractive desktop image.

Customersusing the gt7725 or xw2x220c also can use preinstalled HP Remote Graphicssoftware. HP Remote Graphics software works seamlessly over a standard computernetwork with complex applications, including 2D design, 3D solid modeling,rendering, simulation full motion video, heavy flash animation, intense Web 2.0pages and USB peripheral support.
