Helping design and engineering professionals discover, evaluate and specify technologies and processes that shorten the design cycle and enable success.
In this Special Focus Issue, Digital Engineering takes a look at how generative design solutions can be used across different types of design problems and with a variety of manufacturing approaches to accelerate design space exploration, and…
Indigo Renderer has issued a new beta release, which brings many new features to Indigo.
New features include:
Light layers of GPU support and UI updates. Light layer support for OpenCL GPU rendering is available, which allows balancing of light sources during or after rendering using a graphics processing unit.
Thumbnail to each light layer. This makes it easier to find a particular layer in the stack, according tot he company. Other additions include the ability to assign a light source to a light layer directly in Indigo GUI, as well as adding new layers.
GPU: adaptive resolution for greater responsiveness. To ensure responsiveness and frame rate even at higher resolutions, the resolution now dynamically adapts when doing realtime camera or material changes.
Adjustable light sampling. In some lighting scenarios, some light sources can become more noise prone than others. That's now adjusted using the emission sampling multiplier. Higher values means more processing power dedicated to that particular light source, the company reported.
With its acquisition of Altair, Siemens creates a unified simulation portfolio combining generative design with high-performance computing and AI workflows.
