IT Survey Take 1!

Storage, for most, is a necessary evil. I find only the most devoted block-level geeks get truly excited talking about drives and NAS and SANs and terabytes and host bus adapters.

But storage, for many shops, is the most crucial issue. And too many shops are unprepared to meet even their near-term storage needs. You probably knew this intuitively. Now a survey sponsored by Storewiz, Inc. (San Jose, CA) proves the point empirically.

The survey uncovers many sources of storage stress, including a lack of budgets to handle ever-increasing storage needs, rising electric costs to power all these disks, controllers, and sometimes storage networks, and backup windows that are getting out of hand.

Of course the three-year-old Storewiz just so happens to have a solution. It sells compression software and appliances to reduce disk requirements and backup windows.
