Features draft angle analysis and automatic assembly explode.

KISTERS has announced release 12.03 of its 3DViewStation. It ships with a fresh Office 2013-compliant user interface.

The 3DViewStation now allows users to perform a draft angle analysis, which the company says is frequently used by mold and diemakers and casting companies. To define new directions it is now possible to create and activate new coordinate systems.

Users can also create mirrored objects, useful in creating the other missing half of a vehicle. To get a rough idea about the dimensions of an assembly users can now display a variable grid including a scale. There is also a new automatic assembly explode function.

The new release includes support for SolidWorks  2014, SolidEdge ST6, Parasolid v26 and STEP AP 242, and the translation of native CAD data to JT, which now preserves all PMIs.
