TracePro 4.0, software for optical modeling, design, and analysis from Lambda Research Corporation (Littleton, MA;
lambdares.com), is now available with new capabilities addressing the optical design challenges in a variety of industry applications.
For example, TracePro 4.0 offers fluorescence modeling for life sciences, photorealistic rendering for visualization of illumination designs, and enhanced modeling of 3D surface textures used in the design of LCD backlight displays, projection systems, lightpipes, and microarrays.
Additionally, TracePro users will note a significant increase in raytracing speed; major enhancements in the user interface; and improved translators for OSLO, Zemax, and Code V, enabling an easier import of lens designs to TracePro.
TracePro 4.0 is complemented by an optimization module for automation of the trial and error design steps when finding optimal luminaire, light guide, and reflector geometry for maximum light intensity and uniformity.
A new edition of TracePro Bridge for SolidWorks is being released simultaneously to improve interoperability and efficient management of optical and mechanical design workflows. The latest release of TracePro Bridge addresses more complex models and offers users an expanded database of optical material and surface properties.
