Informative Graphics Corp. (Scottsdale, AZ) has released BravaDesktop Version 1.3, the latest version of the company's Windowsdesktop executable for multi-format view, annotation, redaction, securepublishing, and printing. Brava Desktop is part of the Bravavisualization and annotation/markup product line, which includes BravaEnterprise, Brava Desktop, Brava Reader, and Brava SDK (softwaredeveloper's kit).

Brava Desktop is designed to provide a unified viewing experienceregardless of file format or format concepts. It supports standardformats, as well as vendor specific formats like Autodesk, Solidworks,Adobe, and Microsoft Office. Brava Desktop is built on a core COMcomponent that is available in the Brava SDK for system integrators andOEM partners.

Brava Desktop 1.3 adds more features including thumbnail support andupdated format support (including AutoCAD 2007 DWG and DWF). BravaDesktop will open document, image, or CAD drawing formats, as well asadd markups and save to Autodesk DWF, Adobe PDF, and TIFF. Brava's newpublishing features allow users to save rotated views; DWF files can beviewed properly in Autodesk DWF products where rotated view is notsupported.

Brava Desktop's compare tool highlights differences in versioned DWG,DWF, TIFF, or PDF files to compare approved markups to actual changes.Redaction, the blocking out and removal of selected text and imagedata, can be applied to any image viewable in Brava Desktop and savedas PDF, TIFF, or IGC's secure CSF. Both zone and text search-basedredaction is supported.

In addition to the Brava Desktop v1.3, IGC also has released its latestFree DWG viewer, version 5.4. Free DWG viewer is based on the BravaDesktop technology.  It features open, view, and measure supportfor AutoCAD DWG, DWF, DXF, and IGC's secure CSF format.

Enhancements include AutoCAD 2007 DWG support, increased fidelity,thumbnails, JPEG output controls, and tri-mode magnification view. Thisnew release also expands the viewer's support for handling DWF,including the ability to rotate DWF files and measure to scale.
