LMS International (Leuven, Belgium; lmsintl.com), which develops simulation and testing systems for the automotive industry, and IPG Automotive (Karlsruhe, Germany; ipg.de) agreed to integrate IPG-DRIVER, IPG’s virtual driver model, into the LMS Virtual.Lab Motion software.
IPG-DRIVER can simulate a range of standard and extreme test maneuvers like steady-state turn, braking in a turn, and an ISO lane change. It includes numerous driver operations such as steering, braking, accelerating, and the shifting of gears. It also covers simulations of complex closed-loop maneuvers, which is important for the development of control systems like electronic stability programs (ESP) and ABS.An announcement about the integration of IPG Automotive’s IPG-DRIVER into LMS Virtual.Lab Motion software garnered the most votes in our February 2007 issue.
