MecSoft Corporation (Irvine, CA) announced RhinoCAM Standard (STD) 2.0, a plug-in machining program for the general machinist. RhinoCAM includes 2-1/2 axis, 3-axis, and hole-making operations. It comes with hundreds of postprocessors and a postprocessor generator to create user definable post-processors.

Packed with manufacturing methods this easy-to-use package is not only effective but also priced for the entry-level buyer.

RhinoCAM 2.0, a 4th Axis add-on module can be added on to the RhinoCAM STD product. Allows 4th axis Indexed and continuous roughing and finishing operations in RhinoCAM STD 2.0 offers curve-based continuous machining such as 4 axis Facing,  Pocketing, Profiling & Engraving as well as surface/solids/meshes based machining such as Roughing, Finishing and Curve Projection machining are available.

RhinoCAM Professional (PRO) 2.0 is suited for mold, die and tooling, woodworking rapid-prototyping, and general machining markets. This product offers toolpath generation strategies coupled with tools for efficiently controlling the cutting tool for detailed machining capabilities, while not sacrificing ease of use.

RhinoCAM 2.0 is a plug-in that is completely integrated in Rhinoceros 4.0 and requires Rhinoceros 4.0 to be installed in order for it to run. It is not a standalone application. Also note that RhinoCAM 2.0 does not include Rhinoceros 4.0. It will have to be purchased separately.

Rhinoceros 4.0 is a NURBS based 3D CAD modeler that can be used to create, edit, analyze,  document, render, animate, and translate NURBS curves, surfaces, and solids and polygon meshes. It supports many file translators.
