meviy, the on-demand custom parts manufacturing service developed by MISUMI Group, Inc., makes available ISO Tapered Threads for CNC turning. This new capability enhances the platform's precision machining offerings and provides engineers with expanded options for creating sealed, pressure-tight connections in turned components, the company reports.

Engineers can now specify internal and external ISO tapered threads—designated as sizes R and Rc from 1/16 to 2—for CNC-turned parts, providing new opportunities for projects involving tubes, pipes, and fittings that require thread sealing, the company shares.

“This new addition to our CNC turning capabilities demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing engineers with more flexibility and faster turnarounds,” says Dan Petersen, public relations at meviy. “By supporting ISO tapered threads directly through our platform, we’re helping our customers streamline design-to-manufacture workflows while ensuring the performance their applications demand.”

Key Specifications for ISO Tapered Threads

  • Available for external (R) and internal (Rc) threads
  • Threads must be modeled into the 3D part design and positioned on the center axis
  • Supported across all currently available materials and part sizes
  • ISO standard thread depths are auto quoted; custom depths will require manual quoting
