Immersion Corp. (San Jose, CA) recently announced that its MicroScribefamily of portable CMMs (coordinate measuring machines) has beenintegrated with the Common Inspection Platform software suite fromVerisurf Software (Anaheim, CA). The combined solution supports nativeimport and editing of all major CAD file types, says Immersion, and italso enables real-time high-accuracy measurement and analysis for partsinspection and reverse engineering projects.

The MicroScribe-Verisurf solution includes capabilities to supporttraditional blueprint part inspection. Additionally, Verisurf canimport CAD model specifications automatically including full geometricdimensioning and tolerancing descriptions. To use theMicroScribe-Verisurf solution, you first validate geometries by takingmeasurements with the MicroScribe portable CMM, which offers accuraciesup to 0.002-inch. Your inspection points are displayed on the computerscreen and tagged as within or out of tolerance. TheMicroScribe-Verisurf solution provides automatic feature recognition, and an inspection report is produced automatically for each entityinspected.

The Verisurf Common Inspection Platform software suite encompasses as acomplete toolkit for digital measuring as well model-based inspection, analysis, and reporting capabilities, as well.  It provides devicealignments, reverse engineering, surfacing, feature recognition, deviation analysis with best fit, and support for database export.Click here to download a product brochure or use this link to go to theVerisurf website.
