September 4, 2007 — MSC.Software (Santa Ana, CA) announced its acceptance to the IBM SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) Specialty after completing IBM’s SOA technical and business requirements. With this achievement, MSC.Software’s SimManager has also achieved SOA Connect status, ensuring that it fully integrates with the IBM software and strategy for SOA.

"SOA is an increasingly important business requirement for organizations because of the business flexibility it enables," said Sandy Carter, Vice President of IBM SOA and WebSphere. "MSC.Software’s commitment to SOA provides their customers with a powerful way to reduce integration costs."

Of the enterprise simulation solutions including simulation software and services that MSC.Software offers, its SimManager is designed to bring critical simulation information to thousands of users at the lowest possible total cost of ownership (TCO).

Compliance with SOA standards enables SimManager to seamlessly link to all SOA-compliant data sources and applications; it allows simulation data to be easily integrated into engineering business processes. SimManager uses SOA-based web services to capture transactions from key operational systems and uses XML standards to process data and metadata.
