Murata Power Solutions (Mansfield, MA) has introduced high-power density CompactPCI power supplies that deliver full power across temperature range with high efficiency.

In general,  with 200W and 300W AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies in 3U form factors, the power supplies offer continuous full power operation across -5 degrees C to +55 degrees C temperature range, have a leading power density of 8.5W/cu. in., and efficiency levels in excess of 80 percent.

Specifically,  the three new PICMG 2.11-compliant CompactPCI high-reliability power supplies include the cPCI-A-3U-300C, cPCI-A-3U 200C AC/DC power supplies, and the cPCI-D-3U-300C DC/DC power supply — all in industry-standard 3Ux8HP enclosures. All three models have efficiency levels in excess of 80 percent,  are hotswap capable, and require no minimum load. Power density is 8.5W/cu.in.

The cPCI-A-3U-300C (300W) and cPCI-A-3U-200C (200W) have a wide input of voltage range of between 90VDC and 264VDC; the cPCI-D-3U-300C (300W) accepts 36 to 72VDC. Wide ranging input voltages combined with safety agency approvals to UL60950 and EN60950, EMI compliance to Class B FCC and EN55022 standards, make the new power supplies suited for use in globally deployed systems in applications such as networking and telecoms, industrial, test and measurement,  and medical. All offer the standard CompactPCI output voltages of 3.3V, 5V,  12V, and -12V.

Typical prices for the CPCI series start at $217.50 for 100 pc quantities.
