Genometri Pte Ltd.(Singapore) has developed new design generation software, allowingcompanies to generate thousands of designs within minutes based on ageneric design.

Genometri says that generative technology will drastically reducedesign development time and allow companies to present a wide range ofproduct possibilities to customers. The technology transforms thecomputational capability of computers into creative capability, empowering designers to explore thousands of designs in photorealisticquality.  Intelligent modeling techniques enable rapidcustomizations, allowing the customer to modify the design directly.

Genometric technology operates on top of exciting CAD packages, givingdesigners and engineers the ability to modify the designs manually atany stage of the design process. Rapid prototyping technologies arebeginning to be used to print these customized designs.

According to the Genometri press release, this technology is poised togive great advantages to companies that use design as a competitivetool in a crowded market. Mero Asia Pacific is using this technology togenerate thousands of designs of metal fitting for architecturalglazing, then they are rapidly customizing the design online accordingto the architect's wishes. Future Factories, a British design company,is using this software to generate designs for lamps that aremanufactured by rapid prototyping technology. RISIS, a Singaporejewelry and giftware company is planning to manufacture customized andunique jewelry using the technology.
