New EnSight Lite Software Targets New Markets

CEI(Apex, NC) is now offering EnSight Lite, a new software that deliversessential features of the company’s EnSight visualization software athalf the price. EnSight Lite is aimed at small- and medium-sizedcompanies, large companies looking to maximize their visualizationinvestment across the enterprise, and academic institutions.

EnSight Lite supports major CAE solvers, with more than 60 interfacesfor finite element, CFD, structural, crash, dynamic, and hydrocodeanalysis. It runs on 32-bit platforms, including Linux, Windows, andMac OS X. EnSight, EnSight Gold, and EnSight DR support 64-bitplatforms.

EnSight Lite uses the same icon-based interface as EnSight and includesadvanced features for global and part attributes, query, plotting, pagelayouts, reports, and high-end animation. EnSight Lite users will havefree access to EnLiten and EnVideo, packages that enable geometry,animation, and images from the EnSight family of products to be sharedwith peers, customers, and suppliers.

A wide range of data types are handled by EnSight Lite, includingstructured, unstructured, and mixed; 1D, 2D, and 3D linear andquadratic elements, and n-sided 2D and n-faced 3D; constants, scalars,vectors, tensors, complex scalars, and complex vectors; vertex- andelement-based variables; steady state and transient with fullconnectivity changes such as failed elements or adaptive meshing; rigidbody transforms; and experimental data.

In addition to standard post-processing capabilities such as clipplanes, isosurfaces, and vector plots, EnSight Lite includes high-endfeatures such as multiple viewports; the ability to activate parts andvariables on an as-needed basis; a command language able to runscripts, macros, and batch operations; an interactive variablecalculator; and streamtrace animations.
