A1 Technologies has launched a new, proprietary 3D printer, called the Maxit. The printer was developed so that it could be built quickly and easily, within a few hours, by anyone” even school-age children,  according to the company.

The printer was designed with the motor remote from the hot end, so the printing head is lighter with lower intertia. According to A1, this enables faster printing.

The 360 x 360 x 320 mm printer weights 2.7 kg and has a print speed of more than 40 mm/sec. It is supplied with software, and prints with Poly Lactic Acid material, which is biodegradable. It is also compatible with open source and commercial CAD software.
