nPower Software (San Diego, CA) released Power ProEtoMax, a data translator that translates native Pro/Engineer files directly into Autodesk 3ds Max / Autodesk Viz for rendering and animation.

With this release, nPower Software facilitates the rendering of native Pro/E models and assemblies through its new Power ProEtoMax translator, stemming from the Power Translators plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max that has provided a solution for visualizing, animating, and rendering CAD models using the Autodesk 3ds Max platform.

Now with Power ProEtoMax, Pro/E users can import high quality models directly into Autodesk 3ds Max / Autodesk Viz for rendering, animation, etc. without intermediate formats, and without loss of precision. It opens a portal to the 3D modeling and rendering environment of Autodesk 3ds Max / Autodesk Viz. The native Pro/E translator leverages IntegrityWare's (San Diego, CA) geometric representation to generate smooth, crack-free renderings without polygonal artifacts.

Power ProEtoMax, suited for design visualization of native Pro/E models, is designed to handle large data sets in CAD models. It contains all the tools needed to cleanup, prepare, and render Pro/E models. Other new features include the ability to import precise trimmed NURBS; offer user control of tessellation for display / rendering; enable high quality mesh generation and cleanup of imported data; optimize for large assemblies; and allow intelligent snapping.
