Arena Solutions (Foster City, CA) has announced Arena PLM Spring 06,the newest edition of its secure, web-based on-demand PLM service. Anew integration layer into Arena PLM for ERP, EDA and CAD applications, enhanced security, personalized usage statistics, and a newself-service portal for customer support are among the highlights citedby company CEO Michael Topolovac in a briefing with DE.

The new integration layer simplifies your integration of Arena PLM withsuch CAD, ERP, and EDA applications as SolidWorks Oracle, Microsoft,Cadence, and Mentor Graphics. This integration layer gives you theoption of using managed data synchronizations or an off-the-shelfadaptor solution to integrate PLM product data with those enterpriseapplications. Managed data synchronizations, which includesemi-automated workflows, also allow novice PLM users or those whoinfrequently update their integration processes to have acost-effective, out of the box solution for integrating their PLM datawith other applications.

Additionally, the integration layer features a dashboard that lets youmonitor and manage which other applications are integrated with ArenaPLM. The dashboard also lets you publish specific subsets of PLM datato other enterprise systems.

Arena PLM is said to provide enterprise-class security through IP-basedaccess control. Now, you can restrict access to your Arena PLM solutionbased on log-in and IP address range. This enables the ability tocontrol access to intellectual property on tightly focused "point ofentry" criteria, more customized permission levels, and other, unspecified security measures.

With the Spring 06 version, Arena PLM provides you with real-time,personalized usage information into application usage, feature usage, and support activity, according to the company. In addition, throughArena PLM's self-service portal you can now obtain real-time statusupdates on customer support issues.

Arena Solutions backs its on-demand PLM products with a guaranteedservice level agreement (SLA). For more information, click here.
