Visual Integrity (Norwalk, CT) recently upgraded its entire family of PDF conversion products to version 6.8, allowing the conversion of PDF files to more formats and enabling greater control over the editing and quality of the resulting files. Improved products include PDF FLY, pdf2cad, pdf2image, pdf2picture, FLY SDK, and FLY Batch.

PDF FLY, used to edit PDF and PostScript files, has added two output formats, BMP and PostScript. Of the 15 output formats supported, improvements have been made to the DXF, HPGL, TIFF, SVG, WMF, EMF, and ASCII modules. More general enhancements include increased performance and throughput, selective page-range conversions, advanced font-mapping options, watch folder support, intelligent object recognition, fine-tuning of text placement, and layering based on colors for CAD formats.

pdf2cad, which is based on the PDF FLY engine, now transforms PDF into HPGL as well as DXF. pdf2image, used to generate sharp images from PDF files, can now generate BMP files as well as JPEG, GIF, and PNG. Settings are available during the conversion to select image type and ideal resolution for print or Web display. FLY Batch and FLY SDK have been broadly enhanced.

All products are available for Windows (including Vista), Linux, and UNIX. Prices: PDF FLY is priced at $395; pdf2cad costs $195. pdf2image and pdf2picture are $59 each or available bundled together for $99. FLY Batch starts at $795 for the FLY Batch Web Image Server and $2995 for the FLY SDK in either command-line or DLL versions.

A complete list of enhancements in version 6.8 is available at visual-integrity.com
