QLogic Corp. (Aliso Viejo, CA) announced its Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) for Microsoft Windows Server 2008, which was recently launched by Microsoft.

QLogic Fibre Channel HBAs, optimized for virtualized environments and Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V hypervisor technology, deliver industry-leading performance in Windows Server 2008 environments. Windows Server 2008 automates daily management tasks, tightens security and improves efficiency, while offering virtualization solutions that enable IT professionals to reduce costs, increase hardware utilization, optimize infrastructure, and improve server availability.

Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V, the next-generation hypervisor-based server virtualization technology, allows customers to make the best use of their server hardware investments by consolidating multiple server roles as separate virtual machines (VMs) running on a single physical machine. With Hyper-V customers can run multiple different operating systems — Windows, Linux, and others — in parallel, on a single server, and fully leverage the power of x64 computing.
