The color shrink-wrap tool in Magics 12 makes it possible to make this model ready for rapid prototyping.

Materialise NV (Leuven, Belgium) released Magics 12 software for rapid prototyping and manufacturing. Magics 12 is designed to handle all steps in the RP&M process, from data import to platform preparation. New features include a batch import module, color shrink-wrap functionality, and improved user-friendliness. The color shrink-wrap functionality allows users to build designs such as architectural parts that were previously unsuited for rapid prototyping because of problems such as gaps and overlaps in the STL files. The color shrink-wrap tool wraps a new surface around the geometry to create a buildable part. Magics is the centerpiece of the Magics e-RP suite, a family of products for rapid prototyping applications and STL manipulation.
