Realtime Technology AG (RTT; Munich, Germany) supplies industrial designers who use high-performance visualization tools to convert their product ideas into realistic, virtual models in real time, with accompanying solutions and services.

Twice each year, RTT updates RTT PictureBook 4.0 and RTT DeltaGen 8.0. RTT PictureBook 4.0 (formerly RTT Portal), includes enhancements to the asset management system and presentation platform. The management of materials is closely tied in with RTT DeltaGen and focuses on workflows.

New features available in the latest versions of RTT DeltaGen (v.8.0) include a new “look concept” that makes it easier for designers to work with virtual models. All the components required for material creation have been integrated into the new version, enabling users to execute visualization steps directly.

The new clearly arranged GUI (graphical user interface) lets designers work more intuitively with models, and the procedures in the design process have been simplified and shortened. It is now easier for users to access individual parameters, such as materials, shaders, and textures. A range of presettings makes it easier for designers with no previous experience of RTT DeltaGen to start using the program quickly for high-quality design results.

RTT’s DG Scale technology has now been integrated with RTT DeltaGen 8.0. This can be used, for example, to display optical effects even more rapidly in real time with the RTT RealTrace module. RTT’s ray tracing technology uses the high-performance processors of modern graphics cards (GPU) rather than the CPU (the main processors in computers), which means that the exceptionally high number of computing operations required for RTT RealTrace can be executed with speed.

In conjunction with Visenso GmbH (Stuttgart, Germany), RTT AG has developed the RTT RealFluid computational fluid dynamics (CFD) module, which facilitates the photorealistic visualization of flow simulation data, i.e., allowing physical processes to be displayed in the context of vehicle or product design.

The new software also offers enhancements to the RTT Immersive module and the RTT DirectAutoCAD conversion tool lets designers rapidly convert original files and prepare them for rendering.
